UBC professor speaks to Salmon Arm parents, teens about anxiety – Salmon Arm Observer

“This is the most treatable (mental health issue), and if you intertwine early then kids can learn skills. If a child can’t see in school, you give him a vision check and you get him glasses, and you think how hard is this? Why aren’t we doing this for the most common mental health problem?” she said.

She believes people are better at recognizing symptoms of anxiety, not that anxiety is necessarily on the rise in adolescents.
